Congratulations to AHHS Junior Ashley Robinson and Senior Yuriy Kryvoruchko! The two students were selected as part of the Elmsford Salutes recognition at the Jan. 10 Board of Education meeting.
Ashely was honored for her efforts to spearhead a food drive during the month of December. The school-wide food collection gathered more than 200 pounds of food which was donated to Feeding Westchester.
Yuriy received recognition for his school leadership, he serves as the President of Student Government, and for his outstanding performance on the saxophone at NYSSMA.

Despite her busy schedule, Junior Ashley Robinson is leading the efforts to organize a food drive at Alexander Hamilton High School, collecting items for the holiday season to be donated to Feeding Westchester. The food drive runs through Dec. 20. Items like rice, pasta, shelf-stable milk, peanut butter, cereal, cake mix, pie filling, dried fruit, juice, gravy, canned vegetables, instant potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and corn muffin mix are among the items being sought.

Inspired by the powerful words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. resonated with me which states, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, What are you doing for others”, I joined Feeding Westchester’s Student Help From Home Program. Part of that commitment is to shop, package, and deliver over 20 meals monthly to Feeding Westchester to help feed the less fortunate.
This experience has taught me that what we do matters and one person really can make a difference in the lives of others.
Happiness doesn’t result from what we get but from what we give.

Thank you to my classmates and the faculty of Alexander Hamiton High School for supporting this food drive and making it possible. Because of your help and generosity, we were able to provide more than 240 meals for families in need at Christmas time in 2023.
