In 2023, I joined the Feeding Westchester Student Help From Home Program and began shopping, packaging, and delivering more than 20 meals every month. The program is designed to help families living with food insecurity. With student and community involvement, I was able to provide over 235 meals for families in Westchester County during Christmas 2024. What began as a sincere interest in helping others, has developed into a purpose driven endeavor that, so far, has delivered food to more than 500 families through the food drives and my individual donations.
Feeding Westchester is a nonprofit organization that distributes food and resources to over 229,000 people in need each month.

Cause and Effect
It is important for people to understand that food insecurity also create an inability to concentrate in school. It is a contributing factor in poor academic achievement, low scores, and various health issues such as diabetes or anemia. Education is a major building block to future success and should not be hindered by food shortages, especially in the life of a youth.
I have learned that we are never too young or too small to have a big impact. As I look forward to obtaining a degree in Communications and Journalism, I hope to continue advocating for others by giving a voice to the voiceless and shedding light on the many untold stories of others.
