Book Review:

I can firmly say that the book forever changed me in a way I could not have prepared for. This book is like pickles: you either really love it or really hate it. The characters in this novel no longer seem fictional beyond a certain point, but seem more personnel, raw, and real. Some readers may be turned off by this notion, but the transparency and expressiveness in this book is even more reason to love it. You love and hate the characters at the same time and find that the reason behind this constant battle of emotions is that you relate to the main characters Marianne and Connell. Their every thought, action, and emotion embodies what humans feel day-to-day and Rooney depicts this in such a lyrical format through her words that it creates a big impact on the reader. The possibility of disliking this novel is not even an option and it should be the next book everyone sets out to read.
