Book Review:

Technically looking back on the romance novel “The Sun Is Also A Star” by Nicola Yoon, one could accuse me of cheating and they would not be totally wrong. Though I am a strong believer in reading the book before watching the movie, I can admit I did these steps in reverse. However, I have no regrets regarding this because without the movie, I might have never found the book in my hands. This book is the embodiment of the saying “right person, wrong time” which I believe could be argued to be one of the saddest tropes, as the book left me in tears. This book depicts what it feels like to yearn for something so much just for it to float farther and farther out of your reach. During the entirety of the story, I was praying that by some miracle fate would bring the two main characters (Natasha and Daniel) together and crush the opposition in their way. In the end however, this story showed me you do not always get what you desire in life, or in the ending you were hoping for in this awesome book.  I believe that is what makes the book increasingly more memorable. “The Sun Is Also A Star” will challenge your predetermined opinions on love at first sight and the probability that humans can fall for each other at the blink of an eye. By the end, you see that dreams do not always come true nor do couple always live happily ever after. So maybe every once in a while, you watch the movie before you read the book, you might come across a breathtaking gem.
